Following
the consultation initiated by the UK Health Departments in 2009, the harmonized
UK-wide version of the Governance Arrangements for Research Ethics Committees
(GAfREC) has now been finalised and published on the Department of Health
website at http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Publications/PublicationsPolicyAndGuidance/DH_126474
. The UK Health Departments and NRES are grateful for
the many helpful comments submitted by RECs and other organizations and
individuals during the consultation on GAfREC.
Further
announcements will be made on this page as and when further guidance becomes
available and new procedures are introduced.
