Version 4.0

After ethical review - guidance for sponsors and investigators

These standard documents are issued by RECs with favourable opinion letters to provide sponsors and investigators with guidance about the conduct and management of research following ethical review, including reporting requirements during the study. The version of the guidance for CTIMPs has been updated to reflect changes in version 5.0 of the SOPs, in particular to safety reporting requirements.  There are no substantive changes to the version applying to non-CTIMPs.

The guidance in these documents applies retrospectively to all research underway with a favourable opinion from a REC.
